In March 2019, the international community gathered in Vienna for a high-level Ministerial Segment to take stock of the past 10 years of global drug policy and chart the course for the coming decade in UN drug control. This was a key opportunity for civil society to influence the debates and call for more effective drug policies going forward.

Dianova Portugal attended the Pompidou Group Executive Training on ‘Incorporating gender dimensions in drug policy practice and service delivery’, held the 2-5 April in Amsterdam. With this participation, Dianova aims to consolidate the incorporation of the gender perspective in its Addiction Treatment Programs.

The therapeutic alliance is one of the central factors in the addiction treatment in a Therapeutic Community. We believe that the models, techniques and activities form our drug addiction and alcoholism treatment. But what serves as a catalyst for change is the relationship, the bond that builds and develops along the same.
Dianova launches the campaign #YourVoice+ to Achieve True Gender Equality. Aims to help eradicate the multiple barriers that prevent women from accessing a real equality in education and workplace. Also to give both men and women a voice in order to help to achieve the Vision of the 2030 Agenda. Abandoning discriminatory laws, the global GDP could increase 26%.
Dianova is an advocate for women’s rights and works to promote the gender perspective in debates and campaigns related to migration, education, addictions and mental health. #YourVoice+ & 2030 Agenda: a world “in which all women and girls enjoy full gender equality. And, in essence, all legal, social and economic barriers for their empowerment have been removed.”
The Civil Society Forum on Drugs (CSFD) is an expert group of the European Commission. Its members are selected by the EC for a three-year mandate. Dianova is a member since 2013. Has participated in the recent survey to provide the ground work for the preparation of this report, sharing a wealth of experiences and practices.
Dianova joined the iGen Forum, committing itself to developing actions to promote gender equality. Is the first organization of the social economy to join this Forum. Dianova already has a history in the area of Gender Equality such as the two honourable mentions in the Equality and Quality Award, within the scope of the 11th and 12th Edition.
UNiTE to End Violence against Women. As of November 25 and for the third year in a row, Dianova will be joining the “UNiTE to End Violence against Women” campaign, a global action of the United Nations. The campaign will be active during for 16 days of activism, until December 10 (International Human Rights Day).
